ABOUT US Champion Pet Supplies was set up by Mary Sanders in 1992, and now occupies a large retail unit on the edge of Nuneaton in Warwickshire. The busy shop is also the base for our successful mail order and internet business. You are welcome to ring us to enquire about your order, or to place your order by phone. Ann is in charge of the mail orders, and is usually available to answer your questions. Mary has many years experience of breeding and showing dogs, and is often available to help if you have any dog-related questions. Our shop manager,John, has spent a number of years working in the pet retail trade, and has experience of many different animals, including rabbits, fish and reptiles. He also keeps a variety of birds - his main passion being parrots ( he has 15 parrots at home, all trying to out-talk each other!). John is in the shop full-time Monday to Friday and will be happy to give help and advice. Other staff work in the shop at various times - helping customers, dealing with deliveries, answering the phone, etc. If you are ringing about an order you have placed, please ask for Ann or John (or Mary), as they are usually the ones who can trace your order or answer your query. ABOUT CHAMPION PET SUPPLIES Mary Sanders has a degree in Biochemistry from Sussex University, and taught Biology to A-level for 18 years, eventually as Head of Science in a comprehensive school in Leicestershire. She obtained her first Bearded Collie over 25 years ago, a young rescue dog, and fell in love with the looks and personality of the breed. She then bought a dog and a bitch to show, from the famous Sunbree kennel, and as she learnt more about Beardies and the world of dogs she began to breed and show her own Marybank Bearded Collies. She has also judged at Championship level. Mary decided to leave teaching and make use of her knowledge of dogs and biology. She opened Champion Pet Supplies in a warehouse on an Industrial Estate, supplying mainly kennels and breeders. As the business grew, more and more pet owners wanted the service and advice that Mary was supplying, and ten years ago the business moved to its present larger site in a shopping centre on the edge of Nuneaton. Mary and her knowledgeable staff have many years experience of helping dog owners to find the products they want, and giving advice on feeding, health, training and grooming. The launch of a mail order service has brought this expertise to a wider audience, with customers from the Channel Islands to the Orkney Islands.
